During the August 18th monthly speaker event, the Chesapeake Chapter hosted Mr. Peter Luckey, a senior consultant for 321 Gang Inc. Peter highlighted to attendees that within the last five years, Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe) has been a growing approach applied to cyber-physical systems engineering. Peter presented the many benefits that incorporating systems engineering and engineers into a SAFe mix had. In alignment with the DoD’s Digital Engineering Strategy objectives, Peter also shown how application of a variety of SE workshops within SAFe efforts could accomplish the important Systems Engineering work required during these approaches. Application MBSE in some of the workshop was able to effectively advance system requirements and design elements. Projects having upwards of 60 or more IT professionals involved in the development effort were where the greatest realized benefits could be seen.
