Building a Better Systems Engineering Post-Graduate Course

Abstract: Creating outstanding systems engineers is a problem which cannot be remedied by traditional postgraduate and continuing education courses.

20 years of research into systems engineering and education produced the EverCourse format. It is an innovative format that overcomes the deficiencies of the traditional postgraduate and continuing education courses including the flipped classroom and brings the experience element into the class. The course is flexible to fit the student’s schedule, allows time for dealing with real-world problems as well as the academic exercises and incorporates feedback to minimize miscommunications.

The prototype course has been running since December 2020 and the talk discusses some of the results, and advantages and disadvantages of the format.

Dr. Joseph Kasser
